Along with FAO FIRMS and FishSource, RAM Legacy Stock Assessment Database is a contributor to the Global Record of Stocks and Fisheries (GRSF). Stock definitions and time series data from the three sources are merged, and unique identifiers are applied for all global stocks and fishing fleets.

Stock boundaries of many stocks are available from the RAM Legacy Stock Boundary Database, maintained by Christopher Free. Datafiles, shapefiles, and graphics are available for download.

Life-history data at the species level are available from external data sources. FishBase provides a rich collection of life-history and other data at the species level. FishLife, maintained by Jim Thorson, applies nested taxonomic hierarchical models to life-history data from FishBase to predict traits for all marine fish species.

Several regional coordinators, contributors, and analysts of the RAM Legacy Database were members of a working group “Measuring the status of fisheries and factors leading to success” at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) under the Science for Nature and People Partnership program (SNAPP).
